PLAT RECORDING REQUIREMENTS
- Acceptable sizes are 18" x 24" and 24" x 36" with at least 1/2" border on all sides.
- E-recorded plats are subject to the same requirements as plats submitted in office. Submitters are responsible for getting any required signatures before submitting the plat to our office for e-recording.
- In office recording of plats must be reproducible and be black in on white paper or Mylar. (Beginning March 1, 2025, our office will begin accepting paper copies for recording.)
- The Register of Deeds checks for surveyor original seal and wet-ink signature and statements as required by G.S. 47-30.
- Certain plats will need to be reviewed by the Jackson County Land Records/Mapping office (828-586-7539) and/or the Jackson County Planning Department (828-631-2261).
